Our Mission
The mandate of the West Vancouver Historical Society as approved by membership at the May 20, 2015 Annual General Meeting is to:

Promote awareness of the history and development of West Vancouver

Foster an appreciation of West Vancouver’s past

Encourage community participation in celebrating West Vancouver’s history

Use a variety of methods to tell the story of West Vancouver and members of the community both past and present.

What We Do

Organizes and presents a Speaker Series

Organizes an annual social event (Barbecue) for members and friends to engage

Publishes a newsletter – West Vancouver Memories – that highlights West Vancouver history and upcoming events

Publishes and/or sponsors new books, publications and web-based historical projects

Supports initiatives of the West Vancouver Art Museum, West Vancouver Memorial Library and West Vancouver Archives and facilitates projects, including an oral history project, to capture, preserve and promote historical stories.
