West Vancouver Historical Society Projects

 

John Fulker and Selwyn Pullam Images Inventory. A grant was given to the West Vancouver Museum for the digitization, description and creation of an inventory of John Fulker and Selwyn Pullan Images. 2018

Newspaper Preservation Project – West Vancouver News. A grant was given to the West Vancouver Archives and Memorial Library to digitize the archived original newspapers from 1926-1933 that provide the early history of the community and the people who helped shape it. 2018

Hodgson Architectural Plans. A grant was given to the West Vancouver Archives. 2017

Point Atkinson Lightstation. A grant was given to the Point Atkinson Lightstation Society (PALS) to organize historic tours to commemorate Canada 150. 2017

Hollyburn Lodge Restoration Project. The Hollyburn Heritage Society, supported by WVHS, raised funds to initiate the restoration and preservation of the Hollyburn Lodge, in commemoration of the ‘mountain cabin community’. 2015

Lions Gate Bridge Heritage Status. The WVHS members initiated the process of gaining National Heritage Status for the Lions Gate Bridge over a number of years. This support and advocacy in collaboration with others, culminated in a plaque and ceremony commemorating the Lions Gate Bridge as a National Heritage Site. 2010
